TRANSFORMING THE WORLD OF FASHION’S SHARING ECONOMY
With the ever increasing problem of environmental waste and the fashion business being the second largest cause of pollution worldwide, an increasing number of start-up companies are working towards re-fashioning the industry. LOLI, an Abu Dhabi based company that provides comprehensive fashion and beauty services in the Middle East, came up with a solution for a more sustainable fashion. The startup is currently working on a first of its kind mobile application, bringing together the largest designer dress rental companies in the world in one platform.
The mobile application is a third party booking service, where customers can rent designer dress wherever and whenever they need it. It is a cost-effective approach to the traditional shopping experience and also provides women accessibility to luxury dresses without spending a fortune. All transactions will be done at a simple touch of a button and the dress will be delivered straight into your doorsteps.
The concept of lending clothes has been around for decades. It gained popularity with celebrities hiring professional Stylists, working with fashion brands to dress them for events and returning the garment to the designer afterwards. The company is positive that this new technology will make a strong statement to the industry. The fashion’s sharing economy is ready to be introduced to a broader scale of international audience. This is just a start towards an eco-fashion movement, making it very clear, that the industry’s sharing economy is here to stay.
